Using a combination of one of my PTZ cameras, a high powered infrared illuminator and I-Catcher Console motion detection software I constantly monitor my garden 24 hours a day looking out for wildlife visitors. Foxes regularly visit but have been absent from the garden for a while. Last night they returned.
Well, we all have them. You wake up in the morning, brain buzzing with lots of ideas and plans for the day but one unexpected thing happens after another and before you know it the sun has set and you've crossed nothing off of your 'To Do' list! [pullquote style="right" quote="dark"]just go with the flow [...]
The unpredictable weather seems to be having quite an effect on the quantity of birds visiting the garden feeders at the moment. Numbers have steadily been picking up over the past month and just before Christmas I noticed a couple of interesting visitors to one of the feeders on the HD Live Cam. The unusually [...]
Several months ago I set up a large nest box in the tall fir tree at the bottom of the garden. After months of waiting we had our first visit from a Tawny Owl last night! Climbing Trees! Last weekend I decided to climb the tree at the bottom of the garden to freshen up [...]
We've had fun watching the Woodpigeon nest on the live cam over the past 3-4 weeks but everything came to rather an abrupt end in the early hours of Sunday morning. [custom_frame_left shadow="on"][/custom_frame_left] We have a tree in the garden that has one particular spot in it that is almost constantly used for nesting either [...]

Here is the first... The first half of 2013 has been tough all round for wildlife, especially garden [...]
Unfortunately we've had a sad ending to the Blue Tit nest we have been following on the live cams this year. Everything was going fine until last Sunday. Incubation went without a hitch. Seven chicks hatched on 13-14 May and both mum and dad were doing a fantastic job making sure all the chicks were [...]
I was thrilled to position my Natureview trail cam in exactly the right place to view the Robin fledglings I had been watching on my Live Cams. They found each other even though they left 3 hours apart. This clip was recorded using a Bushnell NatureView HD MAX trail camera with the supplied 460mm lens [...]
I found this clip fascinating! Watch as the female Dunnock helps chick number 3 out of its shell. She then eats the egg shell fragments. A good way to regain nutrients and eliminate evidence of a nest nearby from predators.
